Hillier Trees are proud to partner with Myerscough College, Lancaster University and The Forestry Commission in a field-based study over the coming years.
Research
Hillier Research
Data collection began in 2022, using the Heat Ratio Method (HRM) to collect sap flow and water use calculations; the unprecedented study is focused on improving efficiency and resilience of water management in tree nurseries.
Monitoring real-time water use and supporting irrigation protocols, the research analysis will enable nursery managers to predict and manage field-scale tree water-use.
Extremely valuable data is being collected, once the study period is through and the analysis is articulated the project will be shared industry wide to help all tree growers alike.
