Quercus x bimunorum ‘Crimson Spire’ is an enchanting hybrid tree that was first introduced by J.Frank Schmidt & Son, Boring, Oregon, USA. It is a cross between Quercus robur ‘Fastigiate’ and Quercus alba.
‘Crimson Spire’ has an upright habit which resembles the Quercus Fastigiate. Its leaves are more similar to the Quercus alba in that they are dark green and shallow lobed. As autumn approaches, the foliage transforms into array of crimson, scarlet, orange and gold. Also like the alba, the ‘Crimson Spire’ is resistant to mildew.
With its elegant from and stunning autumn foliage, Quercus x bimundorum ‘Crimson Spire’ offers a captivating addition to any landscape. Due to its slender habit, it’s a great choice for projects with limited space.
