Aesculus hippocastanum ‘Baumannii’, commonly known as the Baumannii Horse Chestnut, is a refined ornamental cultivar that brings a touch of elegance to landscapes. This deciduous tree is a cultivated form of the Horse Chestnut, renowned for its majestic stature and distinctive features.
In spring, the tree produces showy pyramid clusters of double white flowers which last longer than the Aesculus hippocastanum. These add a delightful touch to the tree, creating a visually appealing spectacle. These blooms are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also emit a sweet fragrance.
This variety does not produce conkers, and is therefore more suitable than the Aesculus hippocastanum for use in car parks.
